A Bit Of Background...

From textile designer + market trader

Post Recession + struggling Find A Proper Job...

My brand was born from humble beginnings...on the bedroom floor in my childhood bedroom in 2013. Post recession + struggling to find a 'proper' job...I found myself juggling freelance textile design projects with retail jobs, spending any spare time I had painting and entering design competitions. I won quite a few! Launching a capsule collection with ASOS and selling designs in Urban Outfitters - back in 2013-2015 it felt like a big deal! My business grew, affording me a studio in Hackney, an assistant and a retail space in Topshop. Back then things were fast paced and edgy, my twenties self could handle it and I took every opportunity working at trade-shows, retail events and markets.

Designing Small Batch With Integrity From The Beginning...

Despite scaling up to meet the demands of the highstreet, I always wanted to produce my products as sustainably as possible. From working with my beautiful mama who made some of my totes+ pouches, to the ladies at Fabricworks; a social enterprise who blend high-quality ethical production with social impact. It always felt like I was battling with the fast fashion + exploitative models back then. The competition was wild and as much as I'm thankful for the commercial opportunities + insights I'm grateful these models are starting to collapse to make space for slower growth. Now in my late 30's my business operates from my home studio in Hove, East Sussex where I live by the sea with my dog Mango.
